Jesus is coming again and no one knows the day or the hour (Mat 24:23-31, 36). While Jesus was on earth, even He did not know when He would return. He did know that it would be “immediately after the tribulation of those days” (Mat 24:29). Those days of tribulation are probably a reference to the tribulation God’s people experience throughout the whole interadvental period. From the day Jesus ascended back to heaven after His resurrection until the day He returns, His people will have days of tribulation. It is after these days of tribulation which include the Great Tribulation at the end of the age (Rev 7:14) that Jesus will return to earth and establish the kingdom of God upon the earth. The return of Jesus will be preceded by great celestial phenomena, and at His arrival which everyone will see, He will send His angels to gather together His elect who will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father (cf. Mat 13:36-43).
