“Gospel” is literally “good news.” The gospel of Christ is the good news about Jesus Christ, or the good news He brought. The gospel of Christ is the good news that He died for our sins and rose again from the dead on the third day (1Cor.15:1-5). It is the good news through which we can be saved from our sins and have eternal life. The gospel of Christ is good news like no other in that it is accompanied by the power of God! To those who believe it, God brings salvation by His power (Rom.1:16). It is the only news through which people can be forgiven of their sins and inherit eternal life. People need to hear this news in order to be saved, but how will they hear unless someone tells them (see Rom.10:14)? That someone is you. May we become more intentional in our efforts to share the best news ever!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:16-17).
