Jesus’ First Miracle

Jesus Christ performed many miracles during His earthly ministry which lasted around three years. The first of those miracles He did at a wedding feast in Cana of Galilee when they ran out of wine (John 2:1-11). The apostle John recorded seven of Jesus’ miracles in his gospel (eight if Jesus’ resurrection is counted, see 10:17-18). John calls those miracles signs and tells us toward the end of the book why he included them. “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30-31). On the day Jesus performed this sign, His disciples believed in Him! “This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him” (John 2:11).
